Data entry: I manually entered all data into my tracking spreadsheet and, during this process, was able to read every qualitative response and compare it to others from the very beginning.
Immersion: I read every transcript and response multiple times to really get familiar with what people were saying.
Coding: I went through systematically, marking themes - both themes I expected based on theory and new themes that emerged from what people said.
Pattern finding: I grouped related themes together to see bigger patterns across all the participants.
Reality testing: I went back to the full dataset to make sure my themes actually fit what people said, not just what I wanted to find.
Connecting: I looked at how the themes related to the numbers from the questionnaires.
